As a Food Safety Digital Research Specialist, you will ensure execution of digital research to strengthen early warning and proactive issue management processes related to food safety. You will also contribute to building a digital food safety warning system to be applied by businesses and operations.

A day in a life of a Food Safety Digital Research Specialist

  • Contribute to data-driven research strategy in the areas of food safety
  • Identify and help to prioritize food safety business needs that can be solved via data scouting/mining
  • Establish scientific collaborations
  • Identify best internal and external solutions and datasets to address the above
  • Provide expert knowledge into the development of scouting/predictive methodologies and algorithms
  • Test and validate digital (3G) prototypes
  • Patent and publish to ensure business impact and scientific credibility
  • Proactive scouting of food safety issues, provide recommendations and advocacy support to business
  • Validate and support digital systems once implemented

What will make you successful

  • Ph.D. in chemical-/microbiological food safety, quality surveillance or related fields
  • Ideally having a strong publication records in the field of chemical-/microbiological food safety
  • Preferable 1-2 years post-doc experience
  • Strong network in food safety including academic partners
  • Knowledge of food safety and quality processes
  • Ability to link research to maximum business impact and transfers to businesses
  • Ability to establish scientific collaboration
  • Strong methodological approach that can be digitalized and published
  • Agile project management and consumer-centric design thinking
  • Broad insight in food safety in the context of supply chain and impact on consumers
  • Deep understanding of risk analysis of selected food safety domains
  • Experience in driving digital innovation
  • Good understanding and experience of data mining, statistics & modeling
  • Good level in English (written & spoken)
  • Knowledge of French is a plus
